2020/21 will be the first season that Roffey FC has run a league team in the increasingly competitive and popular veteran sector. The well-established and successful Hills Farm Lane FC vets squad transferred into Roffey FC in the spring of 2020 and is now officially known as Hills Farm Roffey Vets. The League squad, which plays in the West Sussex & District Sunday Football League is managed by Darron Mitchell (pictured below) and he is ably supported by his Assistant Manager Sean Costello, both are regular team players.

Veterans football starts at the age of 35 and ranges up to 60 years old and even above in some cases. But over the last few years the average age of the stronger league teams has been going down rapidly below 40 and the standards have risen as more of the top clubs and players in the region take this level of football more seriously!  On the same basis, Hills Farm Roffey Vets, now with a wider pool of talent to call on within Roffey FC, will be looking to compete increasingly with a younger and stronger squad. After winning the league in 2017/18, the vets league squad finished the 2018/19 season mid-table. They were again mid table when the season ended prematurely in March 2020. Our prospects are looking good and we are looking forward to a strong season ahead for 2020/21 and welcome all fresh players who are willing and able to play at a high standard of vets football at our new home in North Horsham.

The squad trains pre-season with other teams of Roffey FC at its base on Tuesdays and Thursdays, as well as with our other vets on a Wednesday evening at Horsham FC.
